Go Smart! Shopper ("Go Smart!", "we", "us") runs www.gosmartshopper.com. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we don't do with it. We wrote it to be read.
You can use Go Smart! without creating an account or giving us your name, email or phone. When you take a survey at a participating business we store your answers, your optional written comment, the business, the time, and the reward code issued. To prevent duplicate submissions we also store a one-way hash of your connection address and a random session token. We do not store your name or contact details with a survey, and we do not sell or share survey data with anyone other than the business you reviewed.
Surveys unlock when your phone is at the business, so with your permission the site reads your device location at that moment to compare it with the business's address. That comparison happens on your phone. We do not transmit or store your location. You can also use the QR card at the counter instead. If you tap "Near me" to sort deals by distance, your location is used on your phone to sort results and is not sent to us. A city or ZIP you type may be saved in your browser so the site remembers it.
If you list your business, we collect the business details and contact information you provide so we can build your listing and manage your account. If you nominate a business, we store the business name, any note you add, and your name and email if you choose to give them, so we can tell you when that business joins. If you sign up for business tips, we store your name, email, and the optional details you give us, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
We use browser storage only to remember your preferences (your location, radius, and whether tester mode is on). We do not run advertising trackers. If we add basic analytics in the future we will say so here.
Survey answers go to the business you reviewed, anonymously. Service providers that host our site and send our email process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes. We disclose information if required by law. We never sell personal information.
Business accounts are kept while the account is active. Survey records are kept so businesses can see trends over time; they contain no personal identifiers. You can ask us to delete your business account, nomination, or newsletter record at any time by emailing michael@gosmartshopper.com.
Go Smart! is intended for adults and for use in the United States. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
